Information Regarding Fees & Insurance

My standard rate for psychological services is $200 per session/450NIS per session. The fee for each appointment must be paid prior to completion of each session, in the form of e-transfer to SF@DRSARAHFISHMAN.COM or via PayBox/Bit. Many private insurance companies do cover part of mental health treatment. It is a good idea to consult directly with your insurance company to find out what coverage you are allotted. A receipt will be issued to you for each session which specifies that I am a psychologist with the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec and/or my Israel license number, which you can then submit to your insurance company.

Practice Details

During a number of years, my office was located within the ELNA Urology clinic in Montreal, Québec. Having my office within a greater medical facility was an excellent experience and allowed me to collaborate with other highly qualified health-care professionals in order to respond to patients’ needs as they arose. Within a multi-disciplinary approach to care, a psychologist is a full partner in the healthcare team – which many people highly value.

As my practice grew, so did my need to expand my office space. A few years later, I moved out of ELNA Urology and up a short flight of stairs to the third floor of Decarie Square where I had my own office and was able to grow my practice. I still maintained very close ties with ELNA Urology and both ELNA Urology clients as well as my own clients continued to benefit from a multi-disciplinary approach when the need arose. I thoroughly enjoyed welcoming clients into my own private practice. In August 2022, my family and I moved abroad, where I see clients both in-person and virtually. I am still licensed in Montreal and have maintained my current caseload. What that means for Montreal clients is that all sessions are held virtually, adjusting for the time difference - so sessions are between 8am and 3pm EST.

For clients in Israel who want to be seen in-person, I have offices in both Jerusalem and Efrat (Gush Etzion). Sessions take place individually or as a couple. Individual sessions are scheduled for 50 minutes, while couple counselling sessions can be scheduled for 60-minutes or 90-minutes depending on the type of issues presented and the therapeutic goals that are established. Appointments are typically arranged on a weekly schedule that is mutually convenient for both of us. As therapy progresses and goals are attained, sessions often transition to every second week, and then to “booster sessions” once a month.
